As do all stories, we look at the beginning. When starting this project, we began by asking what is art? A painting, poem, statue, or something else? We decided art is anything that touches the heart. That awakens that innermost core of oneself and inspires and illuminates. That is art.

When we looked at contemporary Islamic wood craft, we felt the creations were impersonal, lacked imagination, and with no love behind them. The materials used didn’t reflect the beauty of Islamic arts of the past. This contradicted the rich and vibrant history of Islamic art, where artists were meticulous about their work. They understood and embraced the subtle nuances of their craft to such a degree that when one gazes upon a piece of Islamic art from the past, a spiritual attachment is felt to one’s Creator. This is what we want to revive in Islamic art.

QM Design has a sound understanding of Islamic calligraphy and traditional techniques in wood handcrafts. It is this understanding and experience that has allowed us to bring a personal touch to contemporary Islamic art. Our work doesn’t eclipse but compliments the beauty of traditional calligraphy and transcends this through our various pieces.

Our pieces aren’t just created for today, but for tomorrow as well, therefore you can be assured that they will last a lifetime and their quality is evident.

WAYS TO RECEIVE YOUR GOODS There are three ways to receive your goods: You can collect the products(s) by all means. Please contact me beforehand Standard delivery with a courier service. Delivery with an install service if you opt for this service. This is usually for larger custom made products. DELIVERY TIMES Majority of the products are made within a week. If there is a stock shortage, it can take up to 2-3 weeks. This does not happen often. You will be contacted if this is the case. After you order with us, your order will be confirmed via email. Once the order is booked for shipping, you will receive another email regarding shipping. COSTS We aim to keep our delivery costs as low as possible, but our priority is to make sure the goods arrive with you safe and sound. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING We do ship internationally but request that you email us with the products you require and location with postal/zip code so we can get the best price for you. If you live in the Far East, please get in touch for a quote on shipping. IMPORTANT Delivery times do not include the time it takes for your order to be made. RETURNS POLICY There will be no returns on custom orders (this includes, personalised notebooks & bookmarks, as well as any personalised messages on the back of the artwork). You will receive a full refund minus shipping. If the product(s) are damaged during delivery, you will need to send back the damaged product(s) and a replacement will be sent out. Returns are at customers’ own expense and risk, we advise you use an insured, signed for service. Returns should be packaged carefully and returned to the address provided. If products are ‘accidentally’ broken, this is a fault of your own and cannot be exchanged, replaced or refunded. MADE TO ORDER PRODUCTS We cannot refund or exchange made-to-order products. Due to the bespoke nature of the product(s) it is not possible to return these items. We will contact you via email to confirm your order details are completely correct before we place the order is placed. Please only order if you are sure that the product, design and finish are right for your needs as you may not be able to change the order after the item has entered into production. If you require the artwork to be designed, you will be charged a design fee accordingly. All artworks will be stamped or have ‘QM Design’ embossed or laser engraved on the back. WOODS It is important to note that not all woods are the same. Pictures are for illustration purpose only. No two artworks are the same. There may be natural blemishes on the wood and may show up more when engraved upon. We will try our best to make sure clean plywood sheets are used but this cannot be promised as this is out of our hands when purchasing from timber yards. TEST / CLEARANCE PRODUCT(S) Are sold as seen and non-returnable.
